Mary Pender - Barnets Lane

Barnets Lane Jewellery Design evolved when Mary Pender, weary of hard work which lacked creativity, returned to college to study design and silversmithing.

“Barnets Lane Jewellery is inspired by the world around me: the natural landscape, nature, history, art, travel & romance.”

Mary’s designs are designed to be loved and worn every day.

All sterling silver pieces are hallmarked in the Irish Assay Office, Dublin Castle and where possible offcuts from the marketing industry are used for her contemporary acrylic designs.

Mary Bourke - DeBurrca Design

Mary Bourke, the goldsmith behind the jewellery brand DeBurca Design, originally from Mayo, has set up her own studio in rural county Carlow overlooking the Barrow valley.
Mary creates all the pieces at her workbench in her studio. The studio shelves display sources of inspiration such as dried leaves, shells, pebbles, and lots of books that feed her imagination and designs. Mary takes ideas from nature such as repetition and pattern and the interplay of light, line and shadow, and demonstrates these through her jewellery designs, working with silver, gold, pearls and precious stones.

Mary has developed a number of jewellery ranges in both silver and gold and loves to create personalised one of a kind pieces for individual clients. To view Mary's work in our shop, simply click here.

Natalie Alers

Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Natalie Alers is a self-taught watercolour artist and porcelain jewellery designer / manufacturer.

Natalie loves both mediums because they are translucent which reflect a gentleness and simplicity. She is inspired by the nature around her country garden, especially the small birds which visit and nest in the hedgerow.

Natalie started her own jewellery range after struggling to find earrings that did not irritate her allergic skin. Porcelain and gold were perfect as they are exceptionally lightweight - each earring weighs only 1 gram.

Natalie and her family settled in the Carlow countryside 10 years ago where she now works from her garden studio.
